Chicago court rules Telephone Consumer Protection Act applies to SMS

A federal district court in Chicago recently held that SMS messages that are sent to consumers without their consent could violate the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).

For those who don't know, the TCPA is the primary law in the U.S. governing the conduct of telephone solicitations.

    I think that many carriers also chanrge for incoming texts too. So the user may have to pay fees for receiving unwanted texts. This could be a real nusaince.

    In most of the countries the telecom have helped people to discard / block messages that are not beneficial to them
