Naturally Curly Seeks Email Marketing Manager

Job Description      

Seeking a savvy and experienced Email Marketing Manager to join a fast-paced, fun, Austin-based social network with global reach. The role of the Email Marketing will allow involvement and ownership in various aspects of online (& mobile) email marketing. As our Email Marketing Manager– and crucial member of a growing content and marketing team – you will work closely with the marketing team, designers, development team, editors and producers. A knack for effectively communicating ideas is important, as is self-motivation, organization and ability to pull insights from data and community behavior. As our Email Marketing Manager you will have the opportunity take our email communication to the next level. We are looking for someone to drive the vision and strategy for email marketing in addition to: campaign planning, creative design and data requests, campaign quality control, execution and analysis & reporting of success metrics.

 

Responsibilities & Ownership

  • Plan, coordinate, and analyze email marketing programs supporting multiple marketing objectives (such as open rates, CTRs and forwards)
  • Drive overall email capture initiatives to significantly grow customer email list and opt-ins
  • Effectively manage email marketing production schedules from concept through development and execution
  • Forecast sales, orders, revenue, and opt outs from each campaign
  • Identify, test and implement new opportunities to improve conversion and customer satisfaction via email communications
  • Manage and optimize the design, content, layout, and customer segmentation and messaging strategies of all email communications.
  • Coordinate with internal/external teams to develop campaigns, briefs, effective designs and landing experiences for email initiatives
  • Maintain email best practices including browser/client compatibility, appearance of subject lines, use of images etc
  • Monitor and minimize unsubscribe/bounce/complaint rates and ensure spam regulation compliance (e.g. CAN-SPAM)
  • Generate campaign performance reports, provide analysis and execute on that analysis to ensure positive improvements
  • Analyze all key email marketing key performance indicators (KPIs) to continually optimize all email programs, analyzing key components of each campaign, including lists, offers, messaging, creative, deliverability, open rates, click through rates, conversion and average order size
  • Management and administration of internal email platform, Interspire

Requirements: 

  • 2+ years Email Marketing experience 
  • Record of consumer lead and revenue generation 
  • Experience with segmentation and targeting
  • Experience with database management and list creation
  • Experience with consumer marketing communications/creative optimization 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to think conceptually, strategically and creatively 
  • Must be a detail-oriented team player with strong organization skills and ability to work independently 
  • Basic familiarity with web analytics systems (e.g., Google Analytics) 
  • Familiarity with online media, search, and/or ecommerce is a plus 
  • Hands-on experience managing email campaigns and delivery through one of the major email service providers, either in client or agency role 
  • Ability to articulate and champion email marketing best practices and standards 
  • Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail 
  • Passion for data and metrics 
  • Ability to effectively network and leverage internal and external resources
  • Familiarity with Interspire is a plus
